NRC Group has been chosen to carry out the first major electrification project on Norwegian railways since 1970. The value of the assignment is NOK 760 million.
The assignment represents the first time since 1970 where a longer railway line in Norway is electrified. In total, there are 120 kilometers of railway - between Trondheim and Stjørdal, Stavne and Leangerbanen and Hell and Storlien - to be electrified.
One purpose of the project is to increase the capacity for rail freight of both passengers and cargo, another to provide faster and better rail freight between Norway and Sweden.
This is an important victory for NRC Group and confirms our competitiveness in major railway projects ", says CEO Henning Olsen in NRC Group.
